That the transfer window has opened a few months before BaselWorld -

As we brace ourselves for the onslaught of changes that will inevitably happen (some announced, most not), Armin Strom announced today that Sebastian Marten was the Head of Sales.  

In all fairness, the press release informs us that Mr. Marten has held that position since December 1st, so in so far as "freshness" goes, this tidbit might be a bit past its best "sell by"  date ; )

Having said that, as another new player pulls on the club jersey and trots onto the field, let's wish him the best of success.

I have to be honest, I find casinos to be about as enticing as an oozing sore.

Now in all fairness, I have no doubt that there are folks out there who will be clawing at their wallets to retrieve their AM EX cards, but I am not in that camp.

I go back and forth about luxury industry partnerships - be they celebrity or activity based.  Some are interesting, and some make no sense at all.  Poker and casino games have been often-visited themes.  Millions of people still flock to Las Vegas, so clearly there is an interest there.  But by the same token, millions of people think that Thomas Kinkade's work should be featured in the Louvre…

The Armin Strom AG Manufacture is sad to announce the death of Mr Michael P. Sarp on 17 October 2013 at the age of 65 years.

Mr Sarp had been President of the Board of Armin Strom AG since 2010. With his death, the world of watchmaking acknowledges the passing of a leading personality who understood the industry particularly well.

The Armin Strom AG team has lost a mentor and someone who was extra special in all of our eyes. We shall remember his radiant capacity to communicate and dialogue with people, his greatest passion. Hi presence among us over recent years made a decisive impact on the existence of our company.

We extend our most sincere condolences to his family and friends.

ARMIN STROM displayed its commitment to this cause by donating the unique model ONE WEEK SKELETON WATER ONLY WATCH. The timekeeper in 18ct white gold is powered by an ARM09 Manufacture movement with double going barrel and reveals the beautiful mechanical movement through the dial ring. Plate and bridges are skeletonized in a very distinguished manner and the gear train bridge is hand-engraved with waves. In the context of its association with the Marussia Virgin Racing F1 stable, watch
manufacturer, Armin Strom, has the pleasure of presenting the official watch for the
team’s mechanics and development staff. Called the ARMIN Racing Chronograph,
this timekeeper will not go by unnoticed in the paddocks, thanks to its black PVD
titanium case with imposing diameter. The product, with date at 9 o’clock and
components sculpted out of the materials used in racing cars, focuses on the
challenge facing F1 of pushing materials to the limits of their applications. The
circles around the various indications on the dial, highlighted in bright red, serve as a
clear reminder to mechanical sports enthusiasts of the efforts exerted by brake discs
during a Sunday Grand Prix.
