As I sit in my office writing this, I look out the window and it would be easy to think that it is another typical spring day in the Boston suburbs. Of course, for the foreseeable future all of our days are going to be quite different, dramatically so. Typical is now in the rearview mirror.
It is strange to think that in July it will have been 10 years writing the Tempus Fugit blog. A lot has changed in those ten years, but nothing like the changes we have seen in the past days and weeks.
A polite way to put it is that all of our worlds have been turned upside down. On a personal note I had to close (for now) the adult education center that I direct, and explain to the students (low income, immigrant, some homeless) that by not teaching them we are actually helping them. A crazy world indeed.
We will get through this.
I want to take this moment to wish you, your families and your colleagues a safe, and swift path through this crazy time. The world is a small place, and we're all in the same boat together.
Godspeed -
