Santa Barbara Baume et Mercier Field Trip

So I am waiting, hoping, keeping positive thoughts for my Baume et Mercier Classima Chronograph currently undergoing what might be the watch making equivalent of reconstructive surgery.  My thoughts hearken back to the Six Million Dollar Man - "We can rebuild him - better than he was before..."

At any rate, with the latest announcement of a limited edition, and Baume et Mercier on the brain, I decided to take a wee stroll to downtown Santa Barbara to see some watches in person.

Bryant & Sons is something of a Santa Barbara institution - on a par with Shreve in San Francisco. This is a store that has stood the test of time, and is still the go-to location for folks in the surrounding area looking for a quality timepiece. Yes, they are a Baume et Mercier retail partner, but also carry Patek, Cartier and Breitling - so there is something for a wide variety of tastes.
But I came for the Baume et Mercier!  And they have a complete collection.

In speaking with the folks there, it was interesting to learn that they have carried Baume et Mercier for more than 20 years!  And further - it is a very strong line for them.

So although I am playing the role of concerned father, waiting for news of my chronograph, I was able to at least spend some time with some of its relations.

So if you find yourself in Santa Barbara, check out Bryant & Sons - a great selection and a super-nice bunch of people.
