The HydriumX "Will Return"

From Isotope Watches -

Courtesy of Isotope Watches
I love a bit of whimsy, and the "Will Return" from Isotope Watches has whimsey by the boat load!

The design inspiration is miles away from the usual "homage" diver and actually interesting and original (something we really don't see as often as we should).

Courtesy of Isotope Watches
The dial, hands and bezel all pay tribute to an unlikely inspiration - the "Will Return At..." sign that several stores use to indicate what time they will return to re-open.  In this case, 10:10 ; )

Leave it to a designer to come up with something this fun!

The Archimèdes Wild Green

From Milus -

Courtesy of Milus
Now ordinarily I don't write about watches on Pre-Order or Kickstarter. In this case, I own one of the Milus Archimèdes from 2019, so I feel that I am in a solid ethical position to write about this one.  That, and as I haven't seen it at some of the other, bigger (read - pay us and we'll write about you) sites, I feel okay in bringing this to you first. So rest assured, no money has changed hands, no editorial (or lack thereof) pressure has been brought to bear on Milus.  It's something a little different - it's called NON-SPONSORED content.  I know it's a little old fashioned, but you never know, maybe it will catch on ; )

Now in previous versions (blue and black) you will note that the strap included was leather.  As an early adapter, I can tell you that the original watch is quite good, but although it was promoted to come with two straps, I only received the leather. I all fairness, I purchased mine at BaselWorld and that's the way it came. As you can see from the images (should you be inclined to "click through" to the website), this one comes with a Tropic strap as well as the (if I am honest, not-so-special or good) leather strap.  My presumption is that these are OEM supplied by Rick Marei's Tropic strap brand marketed under his Synchron group banner.

One thing that is a wee-bit different than many pre-orders, is that there are no discounts offered. The "carrot" in this instance is an additional "Tropic" strap included with the watch, and that you will get your watch earlier than the general public. Which is fair enough.

Overall, I have been quite happy with my Archimèdes, and were I to pick again, I might opt for the green dial version.  And let's just say that the Tropic strap definitely marks an improvement in the total package.  It also bears mentioning that when the  original was put out there at BaselWorld 2019, it was mentioned that it would come with 2 straps.  I honestly don't know if that ever materialized, my requests for the additional nylon strap went unanswered, possibly "lost in the mail"...

So while you will most likely not see the same "as featured on Tempus Fugit" plug on the Milus site as you will for the big dippers who will, I am sure, eventually cover this release once the money hits their accounts, here are the pertinents -

BUT THAT'S NOT ALL!  As you know, I do not accept advertising money at Tempus Fugit, but I do try to promote brands that are working to make a difference in the world.  And I am excited to tell you that isotope is doing just that!  For every watch that is pre-ordered using this code:

                                      IRIDERJH

isotope will donate 10% of the purchase price (pre-tax) to the Global Autism Project!

A bit about the Global Autism Project in their own words -
We promote the acceptance and integration of individuals with autism worldwide by training communities in culturally relevant, sustainable practices.

In the coming weeks and months I will be posting more about the Global Autism Project, sharing stories about their mission, as well as profiling some of their team members.  You can learn more about the Global Autism Project here -

                                       Global Autism Project

My understanding from isotope that this special offer is in effect from now until World Autism Awareness Day - April 2nd, 2018 or until stock runs out, whichever comes first.

Again - Tempus Fugit is NOT RECEIVING ANY money in exchange for helping to promote this purchase opportunity with isotope.  My sincere hope is that those that appreciate the watch and wish to get a special upgrade will appreciate the opportunity, and also help raise money and awareness for a very special organization working to help some very worthy people.
