Something Whimsical

From Schneider&Co -

I know, it's perhaps a bit over the top, but I really dig it!

Schneider & Co. are offering some interesting hand-wound models at very competitive prices.

The cases are of aluminum.  The movements are what Schneider&Co refer to as Unitas compatible.

This particular model is referred to as the Helvetia, and here are the pertinents, straight from the source -
  • Swiss Aluminium Watch 32.06 Gr.
  • Schneider&Co Mvt. SCo 38-01 (Compatible ETA 6497)
  • Aluminium bridge - Power Reserve 46H
  • Three Hands Manual Winding
  • Aluminium Case ΓΈ 44mm - Thickness 10.50mm - Lugs 22mm
  • Waterproof 3 ATM / 30m
  • Sapphire Glass - Transparent Case-Back
And with prices starting at CHF 489 it represents an affordable option for both the collector and the person who can afford just one modestly priced mechanical watch.
