Stepan Sarpaneva was kind enough to spare me some time on press day and walk me through the "Black Badger" pieces. And I can say without fear of contradiction, this watch is THE SHIT THAT KILLED ELVIS!!!
Now in fairness, I did share the press release with you, but this watch is OH SO MUCH COOLER in person! And yes, You Want This!!!
In addition, I got to try one of my "dream watches" (sorry, the term grail watch is overused and under realized) the Sarpaneva "Diver", the Korona K0! And yes, it is a KNOCK OUT!
You can have your Pateks, I'm sure they're very nice… I will be just fine with the K0!
A modified Soprod A10 beats nice and ready under the hood, and what I really LOVE is the internal dive time bezel that is actually attached to the movement, so you do not need a separate crown to operate it. A very simple, yet elegant solution - and just the type of fun twist you'd expect from Stepan Sarpaneva.
