The Sh*t that Killed Elvis - Continued... Porsche Design

I get a LOT of press releases.  A LOT OF PRESS RELEASES.  Every now and then - and if I'm being BRUTALLY honest - it is starting to feel more like once in a blue moon, but every now and then there is something truly special.  But today, as I was tidying up my office getting ready to head home, word of the newly revived Porsche Design pinged on my iPhone, and frankly - I was late getting going because I was deeply, deeply engrossed in this press release.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls - allow me to introduce the Porsche Design Timepiece No. 1 and Chronograph Titanium Limited Edition.

So let me break it down for you -

The Porsche Design Timepiece No. 1 -

A 42 mm bead-blasted titanium case is then given a black coating.  The case houses the Valjoux 7750 self-winding movement.

This is a 3 register, COSC certified chronometer.  The crown is screw down, the case back is titanium with a black tinted sapphire display.  The date is white on black - wonderfully visible.

The strap is made of black rubber with a special Porsche Design pattern on the inside of the strap.

But WAIT - there's more!

Many of the same characteristics are shared with the Design Timepiece No. 1, but the case is titanium without the black coating.  Calfskin strap.

I have not wanted a watch so much in recent memory.  This is really, really something special.

Now perhaps I view things a little differently, perhaps I think that there is still some magic in all of the crap and junk that gets jammed into a PDF attachment that is then blasted to several thousands of us.

I want, really want Porsche Design to succeed.  And I think with these two models, success might be right around the corner.

Enjoy your watches!
