So often the question is asked of me - 'dude, you write a watch blog, so what do you get for yourself?' Sometimes the question is posed more eloquently, but you get the idea. As longer-term readers will know, one was the ochs und junior tinta (due ore). But I will tell you something - it can be very, very dangerous to go to BaselWorld! If you are lucky enough, owing to the access that a press pass affords you, you will get to not just see some great watches, you get to hold them, touch them, and try them on. But moreover, you get to meet the people behind the watch. It is almost like on a blue ray disc where you see the "making of" feature - where the director shows the story boards, explains the concept - how they got from the idea to the production to the finished product. And then we met -

And then Gabriela showed me the "story boards" - and walking around the booth I didn't just see Hanhart and the Pioneer MKI - I felt it.

And so for me, there was no turning back, no other course, no alternative. And today, thousands of miles away from Basel - here in Santa Barbara, we were reunited.
This will, of course, be much more than 15 days - but honestly, isn't love supposed to be like that?
