Doing Even More Good - Mauron Musy

And the Swiss Red Cross -

I have to say that I am a fan of the way Mauron Musy is striving to weaponize empathy, and I am also a huge fan of one of the Swiss Red Cross organizations key communications folks.  And as I want to get this out quickly, I am going to let them tell about it in their own words -

The Swiss Red Cross and Mauron Musy join forces to create a “Henry Dunant” watch.

Mauron Musy was founded on extremely Swiss values, which are the very bedrock of the Swiss Crafted label and represent essential precepts upheld by the Fribourg-based Manufacture.

It is these shared values that gave rise to the collaboration and development of a limited edition of seven watches, each unique and stamped with one of the seven fundamental principles of humanitarian organisation; humanity, neutrality, impartiality, independence, voluntary service, universality and unity.

The face of this timepiece reflects this alliance by featuring the names of the Swiss Red Cross and Mauron Musy. It also bears the date of creation of the Swiss Red Cross, 1866, as well as the name of Henry Dunant, founder of the organisation. The latter is engraved on an hour-marker and hand-varnished, combining with three other red lines to represent the movement’s emblematic cross symbol. The caseback is stamped with one of the seven fundamental principles, making each piece as iconic as it is distinctive.

Proceeds from the sale of six watches in this limited edition will be used to support the “chili” programme aimed at raising awareness among children from an early age about constructive conflict management and teaching them how to resolve their differences in a non-violent manner.

The seventh watch, inscribed with the principle of “humanity”, will be donated to the Red Cross Ball in order to support “mothers and children” projects, as well as various actions related to the fight against the pandemic.

Every year, more than 6,000 children and young people in Switzerland take part in workshops on violence prevention and conflict management. The aim is to strengthen the sense of belonging and foster a good classroom atmosphere: children and young people learn and practice showing respect in their relationships with others. These principles and ethics are shared and promoted by Mauron Musy and the founding family.

Well Done URWERK!

The hammer has fallen!

URWERK auctioned off their UR-100 "Fight C-19" recently, and the result was a very, very good one!  And since it was a very positive initiative on their part, we are going to let them tell about it in their own words -

URWERK is extremely pleased to announce that the weekend auction of the UR-100 "Fight C-19" attracted a top bid of 96,500.00 Swiss francs (excluding tax). The generous purchaser of "Fight C-19", an Iranian national based in Liverpool, England, has selected the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) association as the beneficiary of the funds raised.

The winning bidder explained, "As the first institution in the world dedicated to research and teaching in tropical medicine, LSTM plays a key role in fight against COVID-19. It is also a symbol of the city's past where Liverpool was a prominent port city which carried on an extensive trade with overseas regions." URWERK will also buy and donate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to the most vulnerable people living in Switzerland via a donation to the Swiss Red Cross.

We offer a big thank you to everybody who helped in making this magnificent result possible!

For those of you interested in learning more about the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, and if you'd like to make your own contribution -

Doing Good - Frederique Constant

So here's a warm-fuzzy!  Well done Frederique Constant!

Solidarity and Cohesion

Frederique Constant stands united with the Swiss Red Cross.

April 8th, 2020 – Geneva
Let us act together for the good of all! Facing this exceptional situation of health crisis and the demanding position we all have to go through, the Geneva based watch brand Frederique Constant decided to financially support the Swiss Red Cross.

From now until the end of May, for each watch ordered online, Frederique Constant makes a 100CHF donation to the Swiss Red Cross.

The Coronavirus pandemic is putting the population worldwide to the test. Frederique Constant’s entire team wished to take part in the donations to the Swiss Red Cross and took concrete measures that were applicable straight away with immediate effects, in order to support an organization that acts alongside the people most affected.

Each donation helps saving lives and the current situation shows the importance of solidarity and cohesion in society. That is why the Swiss Red Cross is strengthening its capacity despite the crisis and helping those affected and vulnerable. It also supports the work of the authorities and continuously adapts its services to the current situation.

When daily life becomes too heavy, the Swiss Red Cross is here.
