There have been a lot of here today, gone tomorrow boutique brands that have flitted in and out of our collective consciousness.  And if I am honest, when the Manometro first made its debut, there was a fair bit of skepticism.  To put it kindly, it seemed like a bit of a one-trick pony.  

But several years on, and the Manometro is still going strong.

It is important to bear in mind that unlike the truly cursed Anonimo that sinks and resurfaces, constantly under new management, a ship of the damned cursed to sail the horological ocean without ever reaching port, the Manometro has stayed fairly consistent.  And the idea was always that the watch was designed in Italy, but manufactured in Switzerland.  In truth, it is not a watch for everyone, and it has not been a "rocket ship" to the moon type of sales history, but then again that is not really the type of brand that Giuliano Mazzuoli set up.  

Not for everyone, but definitely special, unique and not so crazy in design that it can't be worn with virtually anything.

Two New Looks for the Manometro

Giuliano Mazzuoli held forth on Facebook earlier today to announce the two newest versions of his now iconic Manometro.

Ten Years Later

This is a limited edition created in honor of the tenth anniversary of the Manometro. 

There will be 120 pieces which if the press release is anything to go on correlates to 10 years multiplied by 12 months.

The case is of stainless steel, measuring 45 mm in diameter.  It is water resistant to 50 meters and houses ETA's 2824-2 self-winding movement.  The dial is a sort of cream color with the limited edition number printed in the bottom quadrant.  Giuliano Mazzuoli's signature can be found on the right hand side of the case between the lug and the crown spanning from approximately 4 o'clock to nearly 2 o'clock.

The New Manometros - Time Worth Measuring

Confession time - I have long been wanting a Manometro!  What is it that separates one brand from another - it could be any number of things.  Movement, history, sponsorships... but it is not every watch that can stand out on its own with a unique identity.  The Manometro is, to my way of thinking, a watch that deserves MUCH more attention that it receives.

Are you kidding me?!?  A unique case with a wonderfully tactile crown, Swiss made.  I have sent the request, I sincerely hope that they will send one to test - because I think that there is a lot more to come from the Manometro!
