The Stradale Chronograph

Of the many things Girard-Perregaux rolled out for BaselWorld, this is the one that particularly caught my eye.  It is an honest, simple three register chronograph.  It does not slice, dice, make coffee or do anything other than keep the time and time events.  Oh, wait - there is a date!  The point being that it is a wonderfully straight forward watch that will not become another "fashion victim" like some of GP's other efforts of the not-so-distant past.  I have said it before, but I think it bears repeating - GP wants to be considered in the same league as Patek or Vacheron.  Fair enough.  What do those two brands have in common?  A pretty flawless track record for making beautifully elegant, timeless watches.  Watches that embody style, not fashion.  It is important that GP stay the course with this approach.  Consistency is not achieved in one week, one moth or one year.  But given some time, you never know!

Leather strap or bracelet are available.  

The case is of stainless steel and measures 42 mm across.  The movement is GP's  GP03300 with an advertised power reserve of 46 hours.

Let's keep our finger's crossed.  GP has not had a smooth path for some time.  They are overdue.
