The Baroncelli Heritage

While I pride myself on my knowledge of all things Mido, I was surprised to learn that 2016 marks the 40th anniversary of the Baroncelli.

The case is 39 mm of polished 316L stainless steel goodness with a transparent case back.  The Baroncelli Heritage features a truly striking black dial with a finish described as "grained".  In terms of movements, it is the Mido 1192 (based on the ETA 2892A2) that keeps things moving.

But it is the thickness or lack thereof that make the Baroncelli Heritage truly striking - a petite 6.95 mm, it is "whippet thin".

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Movement      

Automatic Mido 1192 (ETA 2892A2 base), 11½’’’, Ø25.60 mm, height: 3.60 mm, 21 jewels, 28,800 vph, NIVAFLEX NM 

mainspring, NIVAROX II balance-spring. Finely decorated elaborate movement with blued screws, oscillating weight 

decorated with Geneva stripes and Mido logo. Functions: HMSD. Adjusted on 4 different positions for high accuracy. Min. 

42 hours of power reserve.

Case              

Polished 316L stainless steel, Ø39 mm, exceptional thickness: 6.95 mm, 3 pieces, sapphire crystal with an anti‑reflecting 

treatment on both sides, transparent case back with sapphire crystal revealing the finely decorated elaborate movement, 

engraved serial number, water-resistant up to a pressure of 3 bars (30 m / 100 ft).

Bracelet          

Semi-matt black calfskin with crocodile look, stainless steel pin buckle.

Dial                

Black, grained, Baroncelli Heritage logo at 6 o’clock, date at 3 o’clock.

Hands            

Rhodium-plated, double-sided hour and minute hands (one side sandblasted, one side diamond-cut), diamond‑cut 

seconds hand.
