Some people like Christmas, others the Super Bowl - but for me it is BaselWorld. Every year there is an opportunity for a birth and rebirth! So when it comes to the "birth" of a new brand, there is always hope and anticipation. One of the contenders this year is the La Clémence from the newly launched brand Spero Lucem. Yvan Arpa has named this first model after one of the bells in a Geneva cathedral. And given that this model is named for a cathedral bell, it seems only fitting that it's a minute repeater.

But more than a repeater, it is a tourbillon. And there is a visual treat as well - when the repeater is engaged (i.e. sounding) the hands take on a life of their own - a sort of temporary insanity, which Spero Lucem refers to as the hands "going crazy".
