As the fifteen day review nears its conclusion, the main thing that has stuck with me is the quality of the finish of this time keeper.
As you can see from my typically clumsy photo, the case back is attached by seven screws, and is clearly and precisely engraved. I have to strongly applaud this touch - too many companies now are using micro-engraving/laser engraving techniques. While these certainly will work, I am a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to things like this and I love this added attention to detail. For a watch at this price point it would be easy to take the same path as everyone out - a clear display back with a standard screw down back, but the folks at Christopher Ward wanted something better. The use of a small porthole to act as the display is a truly tasteful measure. Yes, you can see some of the movement - just enough.
And the same care was shown with the design and execution of the crown. Again - instead of a laser type engraving, Christopher Ward has opted to cast a crown with a raised logo! No etching or imaging!
And finally, note that the strap comes with a quick-release feature. Christopher Ward offers a few different strap options, and the use of the quick release strap ensures that you can change your strap without gouging up your watch - and that you can do it quickly and neatly! More time wearing your watch and less time "getting it ready"!
In terms of the daily update - I am still enjoying the accuracy - only 5 seconds deviation!
The price alone is something to consider - $420 US!!!
