Octa Sport "Indy 500" - Limited Series

Made in commemoration of Jean Alesi’s participation to the Indianapolis 500-mile race, in Aluminium  alloy, with blackened case and black rubber strap.

In commemoration of Jean Alesi’s participation to the emblematic Indianapolis 500 miles race, F.P.Journe has created a Limited Series of 99 pieces, the “Octa Sport Indy 500”, numbered 501 to 599.  Inspired by the Octa Sport, it is produced in high technology Aluminium alloy used in the Aeronautics.  The blackened Aluminium case with the black dial featuring, with the F.P.Journe Invenit et Fecit signature, the logos Indy 500, Lotus and Jean Alesi, reinforces the sportive aspect of this Limited Series in the category of watches associated with car races.

INDY 500 News from F.P. Journe

Jean Alesi has been keeping busy at the Brickyard!  He arrived earlier this week and is getting familiar with the track.

As a young man growing up in Northern Ohio, the 500 was one of those events that marked the calendar.  It marked the near beginning of summer, falling as it did the day before Labor Day.

Back then, the race was actually taped during the day, and broadcast at night. You had to avoid the news all day to avoid spoiling it when it came on. While I like being able to watch it live now, I sort of miss the build up and excitement. But that was another time.

Today the 500 belongs to the likes of Mr. Alesi!  Keep an eye out for him on May 27th!
