After years - and that's no exaggeration, I finally dug deep and put my marker down for a pair of Alden wingtips. Now, while finding a "standard" pair of Alden's is certainly "doable", but the interesting thing about Alden is that also make limited series collaborations. And it just so happens that this pair was just such a unicorn.

This is the Pelle Line Exclusive Alden D8511- New Cigar Madison Leather - Commando Sole Wingtip. No mere brown leather, thank you ; )

Now one important thing I will add - I own a few pairs of Alden shoes, and the Commando sole is a revelation. Don't get me wrong, Alden's leather soles are great, but the Commando offers that extra bit of cushion, as well as traction ; )

Now to be clear, I do not visit the "money room" at the Rolex Boutique, and I do not have vast deposits of disposable income. But as I have said, there are some things that are worth the money, and when it come to Alden, you see and feel exactly where the money went, and your feet will definitely thank you!
