Resolutely Modern Aplomb!

I have NO IDEA what in the wide-world of sports that is supposed to mean, but according to the wordsmiths at Ulysse Nardin, it describes their latest offering, the Classic Perpetual Ludwig.  All concerns about language aside, the watch makers of UN are absolutely on point with this new time keeper.

The case measures 41 mm in diameter, and houses Ulysse Nardin's Caliber UN-33.

A truly complex set of features distilled down to maintain their functionality, while easing the setting for the watch wearer through the use of the Classic Perpetual Ludwig's solitary crown.

Here are some of the specifics, straight from UN -

Perpetual Calendar adjustable over a single crown
Big date in double window at 2 o’clock
Month and day of the week in the center of the dial
Years in a double window at 6 o’clock
Small seconds at 9 o’clock

And in case you're interested, here is the press release in its entirety:

classic perpetual ludwig
The release of the Classic Perpetual Ludwig timepiece celebrates this illustrious history with resolutely modern aplomb.

Master watchmaker Ludwig Oechslin was renowned for his knack of finding the most direct solutions to the most complex problems. It was his genius that was behind the first perpetual calendar timepiece in 1996.

A watch that enabled forward and backward date adjustments using a single crown was unprecedented in Haute Horlogerie.

Today, the unrivalled UN-33 perpetual calendar movement is the beating heart of this eternal classic, behind the calendar settings on the dial.
