The organizers informed all of us that, essentially, the quality would be improved by fewer participating brands. In essence, they were doing the watch world a favor by making participation in the fair so expensive, that several brands could no longer afford it...

The guiding principle of BaselWorld has often been that money talks, and bullshit walks. The majority of Hall 2 has the look of a once thriving urban area following a cataclysmic event that wiped out 90% of the population.
Most of us are prepared for the news that attendance was through the roof, the best BaselWorld ever!
And Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny will be around shortly to tuck you in and read you a story.
