A New Word is Born!

Little Henki factoid - during my undergrad days at U of O, I had the opportunity to take Forest Pyle's Literary Theory class.  Sprinkled amidst the impenetrable tomes of Eagleton he layered in some other interesting references including Enya, the Butthole Surfers, and Eric B. and Rakim.  I barely squeaked through, as the course was clearly intended for stronger brains that the one possessed by yours truly.  But it did instill a love for words, their origin and their propensity for evolution.

And as a direct result of yesterday's post, I am very proud to say that I have contributed a little something to the lexicon -

millennialitis
The belief of sales, marketing, and advertising professionals that the Millennial demographic represents a completely unique group of consumers and as such, entirely new approaches must be adopted. Even if the product you are trying to sell is intended for a completely different demographic, such as Depends Adult diapers.
I tried to explain to the Creative Director that the hipster didn't represent our customer demographic, but she's got a bad case of millennialitis.

To quote that great commentator on horology, MC Rakim -

I can take a phrase that's rarely heard
Flip it now it's a daily word
