If I Could Put Time in a Bottle...

So......

"Guys like watches, they like getting' liqueured-up, I know what we should do!"

While I have no real proof that these were the words spoken by the PR/Marketing folks that came up with the "On Dobel Time" event, I do wonder what the rationale was.

I will give you the press release in its original form, but thought I would preface it with some of the bon mots shared with me from some of my colleagues in the fourth and fifth estates -

"Finally! The connection between making tequila and watches has been re-discovered!"

"The confluent synergies that marry tequila and watchmaking have been ignored for far too long!"

I will let the press release speak for itself.  Feel free, as always, to draw your own conclusions, I for one have to sign off here as I've pissed myself on this one and need a fresh change of skivvies -

Maestro Dobel Tequila’s interesting journey into the world of time pieces came to fruition last night with the launch of their multi city program On Dobel Time-  a partnership with Hodinkee, a leader in original horology content and the authority on timepieces.

The evening featured revered, handpicked collector wrist watches curated by Hodinkee's founder Benjamin Clymer and paired with Maestro Dobel’s meticulously crafted variants to highlight the art and precision of both spirit and time.

Held at Stephan Weiss Studio, the space was portioned into the shape of a clock face that featured 5 visually stunning bars, representing stops in time. Maestro Dobel SilverMaestro Dobel ReposadoMaestro Dobel AƱejoMaestro Dobel Humito and the complicated rule breaker Maestro Dobel Diamante, were each paired with collector watches, including 1960s Vacheron Constantin Chronometre Royal in White Gold with Diamond1920s Patek Phillipe Gondolo, Rolex Datejust with Grey Linen DialUniversal Geneve Tri-Compax, and 1970s Wittnauer Geneve Professional Chronometer, as they exhibited the properties most represented by each expression.

Following a speech by Benjamin Clymer explaining his discovery of the correlation between the art of time pieces and the Dobel tequila making process, guests including influencers Brandon Trentham, “The Metro Man” Monti AnkariRyan Clark of “High Fashion Men,” Erika Fox of “Retro Flame” and Sam White of “SamWhiteout, enjoyed cocktails of Dual Time El Diablo, Moon Phase Margarita and Smoky Tourbillion Negroni.

No gentle reader, you could not make this up!

A word to the wise from your old pal Henki - don't drink and wind!
