The Blue Ocean

This is one of the latest specialties from the folks in Le Locle.  45.8 mm of stainless steel that has been treated with what Ulysse Nardin refers to as a:  
"specially treated with a blue rubber coating using a sophisticated vulcanization process". 

It is an intriguing idea that no doubt adds an interesting visual and tactile twist to the standard steel case.  Not exactly sure what you do when the rubber starts to split or crack, as it does not appear to be something that could be "polished out"...
