The Waiting Game

So perhaps it is something that shouldn't surprise us anymore, but maybe it is time to expect a bit better effort from the watch industry.

BaselWorld comes, hugs exchanged, love shared, WATCHES ORDERED…

Now, gentle reader, for my sins I did work on the "other side of the booth".  I know that it is a non-stop sprint from the re-opening after the Christmas holiday to BaselWorld to get your samples ready along with the necessary media collateral.  Fair enough.  But…

After all the hugs, and love and promises of speedy delivery… the brand takes the distributors or the retailers money - and gently informs them that they will deliver their watches, I don't know, sometime AFTER BaselWorld 2015!

The world's an imperfect place.  Sometimes we bite off more than we can chew.  Having said that, you have to punch your weight.  Be ambitious, be bold, be daring - but don't take your retail partners money until you are actually ready to deliver, I don't know, within the same fu*%ng calendar year!
