Eberhard & Co. awards prize to Richard Park,
forward from the Ambrí Piotta Hockey Club

At a gala evening held at the Palapenz Centre in Chiasso, the General Manager of
Eberhard & Co., Mario Peserico, presented an award to Richard Park, the number 27 in the Ticino ice hockey team which is sponsored by the watchmaker.

Richard Park was voted 2013 Player of the Year by his team mates and by the team’s management. According to the coach Serge Pelletier, the Korean-born American forward was chosen both for his human qualities, which make him a popular figure in the changing room, and for his sporting abilities, which he has honed over an illustrious international career.

Richard Park was born in Seoul in 1976 but grew up in Los Angeles, and started out in the highest-level juniors category in Canada in 1992. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1994 and took part in the World Championship at the age of 18, earning a place in the US national squad. After playing more than 700 games in the United States he joined HC Ambrí-Piotta in 2012, becoming a leading figure in the Swiss team’s current exceptional season, currently third in the Swiss National League A.

Eberhard & Co., a brand which has been closely associated with the world of sport since it was founded in 1887, became one of the main sponsors of Ambrí-Piotta this year, sharing its passion and competitive spirit, guided by the highest values of fair play.

Awarding Richard Park a precious Chrono 4, the Swiss company’s patented flagship model, Mario Peserico said he was proud of the role played by Eberhard & Co. in the Swiss ice hockey scene and that through this award he wanted to signal the closeness of the brand to one of the sport’s most remarkable stories.
