The Model 33 from Gerber Watchers

Re-heating a classic -

Okay, in all fairness, this has been around for awhile, but there is something to be said for a classic watch.

This is the Model 33 from Gerber Watches.

So what is so special? Well, yes it is a manufacture movement, but what has always caught my eye was the moon phase function.

It is a truly 3 dimensional moon phase!  A simple disc, painted on an inner wheel?  Pfff!  No, this is something altogether different!

The "moon" is truly a marvel, with half of it being Lapis (to represent the "dark side" of the moon) and the other half utilizing 54 diamonds (representing the full moon).

And unlike so many other moon phase watches, this one will be accurate for 128 years!

Here are the specs - straight from Zurich -

  • Tonneau shaped case in Rose Gold, White Gold or Platinum
  • The 6mm moon is available in either Diamonds with Lapis
  • Moon corrected for 128 years
  • Guilloche dial
