Thinking about my friends around the world this morning, seemed like a good day to write about Glycine, and more specifically the Airman SST 12.
We live in a fairly "instantaneous" world it seems. We have CNN, the BBC, Yahoo, etc. The conveyance of news and information has become almost like instant coffee. You get it fast and quick, but it is lacking depth, sometimes leaving a bitter after-taste. And yes, as a blogger who tries to push content several times a day, 365 days a year the irony of this statement is not lost on me ; )
The same is true of how we tell time. Many people don't own a watch - and it is not a question of funds available. They have their phones, or their computers at work. And don't get me started on the so-called "smart watch". It seems pretty dumb to me. As someone who owns and uses an iPhone, and iPad, a MacBook Air (and that's just at home), I am constantly reminded that we run into the same old problems. We think that we are simplifying, but in fact we are simply trading one set of objects for another. And maybe this is the final proof that I have firmly embraced middle-age. I am missing "the old days" ; )
Well, luckily we still have the nice folks at Glycine, providing us with the time in many different time zones. Pretty straight-forward and easy to use, and when we talk about iconic watches, the Airman is right up there.
So for those of you I haven't put to sleep yet, here are the details:
