In speaking with Filip Blazevic the owner of Filip & Co. Watches, he spoke of the inspiration for his Cleveland series of watches. It was something near and dear to my heart as Cleveland is his adopted hometown, was the "big city" of my youth growing up just to the south in tiny Oberlin, Ohio. The inspiration was his father's DOXA watch. He had shown me a picture of the two side by side and it is clear that the Cleveland represents a reinterpretation of something dear to him from his youth and his first "home town", adapted and updated to convey his love for his new home town of Cleveland.
The dial is a fantastic sun-burst effect, and I must say that I find myself staring at it constantly throughout the day.
And as we are nearly one week in, a quick update on timing - BANG ON!
