Angular Momentum's Le Detroit

It is always a pleasure to see what Martin Pauli has been working on -

Angular Momentum has produced a limited edition produced for for La Bibliothèque du Temps Malaysia.  A 40 mm case crafted from rose gold houses a hand-winding Fontainmelon caliber 96.  The 96 has been further decorated with geneva stripes, blued screws and blued polished wheels.  The crown is, well... crowned with a cabochon sapphire!

As with many of Mr. Pauli's creations, this one utilizes his singular skill in miniature painting on both the front and back crystal.  The front depicts the 19th century sail ship Le Detroit arriving at Penang harbor.  The rear crystal is decorated with a miniature painting of a map of the straits of Malacca, indicating the three pearls of South East Asia: Penang, Malacca and Singapore.

A rose gold aperture provides the framework for time to be displayed à Souscription on a solid mother of pearl revolving hour disk.
