Each Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry Music Fund operates in conjunction with a leading musical institution in its respective country with the mission to support talented young musicians by providing scholarships and opportunities for musical development within the framework of an international music exchange program.
This year’s GRAMMY Camp invitees include two students from the London-based World Heart Beat Music Academy, two students from Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo, and five students studying at the Xi’an Conservatory of Music, under the aegis of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation (C.S.C.L.F).
At the GRAMMY Camp in Los Angeles, the selected students from Japan and the UK will have the opportunity to meet with industry professionals, attend master classes, write new music, visit recording studios and participate in a range of workshops. The week will culminate in a special interactive concert at the renowned El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles. The evening will feature live performances of songs written during GRAMMY Camp and camper-created multi-media presentations before a panel of music industry advisors.
The following month the students of the Xi’an Conservatory of Music will take part in a four-day cultural experience at GRAMMY Camp in New York where they will perform in a number of concerts designed to showcase their talents. The program will conclude on August 14th with a private finale concert at the Asia Society. The exchange students will perform as the ‘The C.S.C.L.F. – Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry Music Fund Quintet’ alongside alumni from the GRAMMY Camp – Jazz Session for an unforgettable evening including classical and traditional Chinese music, jazz and pop selections.
Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry is proud to co-host this special evening with the Asia Society for its dedication to promoting intercultural programs and projects, in the same spirit as the Music Funds.
The opportunities presented by the Gucci Timepieces & Jewelry Music Funds and the GRAMMY Camps echo the House’s wider commitment to preserving the arts, with a particular focus on supporting the rising young talent of today.
