Urban Jürgensen & Sønner's Montre Émail Observatoire

So at BaselWorld a lot of attention was focused on the Montre Émail Observatoire Limited Edition.

LIMITED EDITION
Courtesy of Urban Jürgensen & Sønner

This new member of the Urban Jürgensen & Sønner collection is a 42 mm rose gold case.  It can also be had in Platinum.  The movement is particularly special - it is the UJS-P8.  This in-house creation is hand-winding and features a pivoted spring detent escapement, which in case you didn't know was previously found only in ship's chronometers making the Montre Émail Observatoire the only wrist watch that I know of to feature it .  And if that wasn't enough cool factor for you, think about the typical power reserve - 88 hours.  Now certainly there are watches with greater power reserve - but to my way of thinking those are superfluous - HUGE power reserve for the sake of having the most power reserve.  But as with all things from Urban Jürgensen & Sønner, this is a tasteful - and USEFUL  complication.  Every three days or so you rewind your watch.  So you wear your watch during the week, maybe switch to something different for the weekend and pick your watch up Monday morning, with plenty of time to power up for the week to come.  But just to be safe, your power reserve is displayed in just under the 12 o'clock indication.

Here are the details:
