All Hail the Royal KonTiki Two Time Zones!

Now I don't want to mislead anyone, but with the announcement of this newest member of the KonTiki family I almost senses that the team in Grenchen had made a new watch just for me!

I am a self-confessed KonTiki NUT - but when Eterna started manufacturing their own movements, I had to wonder when and if one of those mechanical hearts would find their way into the KonTiki...

This is Eterna's long-awaited calibre 39, and in terms of the Royal KonTiki Two Time Zones it will represent just 1 of the possible 88 configurations!

Movement: Eterna proprietary calibre 3945A; self-winding movement fitted with an Eterna Spherodrive system; power reserve 68 hrs; 28,800 v.p.h.; 28 jewels; diameter: 30 mm (13 1⁄4 lines) thickness: 5.90 mm; 2 ball bearings; hours, minutes, second timezone; date calendar.

Dial/hands: black, rhodium-plated baton hour markers coated with a white luminous compound; rhodium-plated centre hour and minute hands coated with a white luminous compound ; rhodium-plated centre seconds hand; centre second timezone hand with red arrow tip; date calendar at 3 o’clock.

Case/back: case in polished and satin-finished stainless steel; decorated bezel with 5 engraved grooves and 5 PVD-clad screws; screw-locked case back with sapphire crystal window; water- resistant to 100 m (~ 330 feet or 10 bars); diameter: 42 mm; thickness: 12.30 mm; scratch- resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystal; crown decorated with five spheres; PVD-clad crown guard.
