Girard-Perregaux finds the roots of its name in the marriage between Marie Perregaux (1831-1912) and Constant Girard (1825-1903). Girard-Perregaux’s name is composed from the name of wife and husband, underlining the important role that women have always played in the watchmaking industry.

The International Women’s Day is not only a mere celebration of women and their achievements but aims also to raise awareness against gender discrimination and violence.
