Memories of Finland in February

As many readers may know - despite the poor writing style, pitiful grammar and atrocious spelling... I was an English teacher for many years.  Nearly four of those years were spent in Finland.  Being a Northern Youth, I was used to cold, snow and ice.  I was used to having snow on the ground in April.  What I was not used to was the endless nights that seemed to start at around 12:00 noon an go until 9:00 AM!  It wasn't as bad as all that, but let's just say the nights were long.

This is the Korona K2 Kaamos from Sarpaneva.  Finally, a watch that sums up that experience!
In their own words -

Kaamos is a Finnish word for the mystical winter period when the sun doesn’t rise above the horizon. During these months the land is cloaked only in a dim veil of light, sinking the whole nation into gloom and depression.

Now, I wouldn't say it was as bad as all that, but it's safe to say that it is an adjustment.  This little beauty could certainly have eased that transition!

So get your WINTER on, and don't be afraid of the dark!
