Or more specifically, what "moves" your watch? For the last several years all the talk has been the back-and-forth between manufactured movement, vs. ETA, vs. Selita, and on and on....
Well, to be clear, JeanRichard is indeed offering a watch with an "in-house"/manufacture movement. What many people don't fully appreciate is that owing to the vision of Luigi Macaluso and now his sons, JeanRichard is able to harness the creative and technological strength that drives Girard Perregaux.
But back to the Highlands movement -
JEANRICHARD movement JR1000
Self-winding
Calibre: 11 ½’’’
Frequency: 28,800 vibrations/hour (4 Hz)
Jewels: 27
Power reserve: min. 48 hours
Functions: hour, minute, second, date
And here is a better picture of the movement itself -
But as readers of this blog will know, I tend to write from a personal perspective. In terms of daily wear from a (I hope) regular person, I can say that over the week, the Highlands has performed FLAWLESSLY! Checking on the Atomic time this morning - the watch has gained 2 seconds this past week. It has run at that rate all week long. That's +2 seconds pals and gals! I am sure that the COSC is a great group of people doing good work, but with a going rate like this...
I will have to start saving my pennies... this is a FANTASTIC watch!
