Comfort - and the JeanRichard Highlands

It has now been five days with the Highlands that the nice folks at JeanRichard sent.  I have been impressed by this wonderful timekeeper on several levels, but today I am reminded by how comfortable it is to wear.

Because of the size -

Dimensions: 44.50 x 40 mm
Height: 11.96 mm

This is a watch size that can very often be uncomfortable to wear, but JeanRichard
addressed this problem with a very simple, yet elegant solution - they placed a round watch in a slightly "squared" case. With the lugs being slightly curved, and the upper and lower sides of the case being flatter, the Highlands provides a wonderfully legible, substantial watch.  But because of this design detail - it has the size without shooting off of the wearer's wrist.

The use of a canvas/leather strap was another well-considered decision in the design process.  The strap is flexible, but solid.  And the leather underside ensures a comfortable wear.
The canvas outer surface is the perfect counterpoint to the rugged looks of the this JeanRichard watch.

The deployment clasp is functional, but at the same time quite elegant in the finish and detail.

So far, it has been a fantastically comfortable watch.  And so far, COSC time-keeping!

More to come, stay tuned.
